Zaptec cooperates with German ChargeHere to deliver infrastructure for residential properties

Munich, 30 September 2025 – Zaptec has entered into a strategic partnership with ChargeHere, a wholly owned subsidiary of EnBW. ChargeHere offers full-service solutions for charging infrastructure in residential properties, based on a two-stage expansion concept.

Annual Report for 2024

As part of the collaboration, the Zaptec Pro charging station will be integrated as the standard hardware in ChargeHere’s solution. For property developers, housing associations, and real estate owners, this means a technically and economically efficient all-in-one package: ChargeHere takes care of planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and billing – complemented by a powerful, legally compliant charging station delivering up to 22 kW of charging capacity.

Zaptec Pro as part of an intelligent two-stage concept

The key feature of the ChargeHere approach lies in the separation of basic and expansion installation. In the first stage, all parking spaces are equipped with backplates – a pre-installed technical connection point that makes each space EV-ready from the start. Once charging demand arises, spaces can easily be upgraded in the second stage: the Zaptec Pro is mounted onto the existing backplate via plug-and-play and automatically integrated into the backend system. This makes it possible to scale charging infrastructure cost-effectively and on demand, without further construction or electrical work.

With its robust housing, charging capacity of up to 22 kW, legally compliant metering, and RFID access, the Zaptec Pro meets all standards relevant for the housing sector. It therefore perfectly complements the ChargeHere system – both for new-build projects and the gradual electrification of existing properties.

Shared goal: sustainable charging infrastructure for residential housing

ChargeHere takes a holistic view of charging infrastructure – this fits perfectly with our ambition to create genuine added value through intelligent hardware. We are delighted to be part of this concept for sustainable charging infrastructure in the housing sector.
