Grant conditions:

  • Properties must have off-street parking
  • Maximum of 200 grants per year per landlord (landlord scheme)

Open until: Extended until 31 March 2027, subject to government review

What makes a grant-compliant charger?

Not all EV chargers are created equal, especially when it comes to securing grant funding.

To qualify for OZEV and other UK grant schemes, a charger must:

  • Be OZEV-approved and listed on the official government registry
  • Be installed by a certified OZEV installer
  • Offer data transparency and safety features suitable for commercial use

Zaptec Go and Zaptec Pro are fully OZEV-approved and trusted by landlords, businesses, and public sector organisations across the UK.

Why it matters:

Choosing a non-compliant charger can void your grant application or delay funding. With Zaptec, compliance is built in—removing the guesswork and the paperwork friction.

Why choose Zaptec?

Zaptec doesn’t just meet the grant requirements—we exceed them.

Here’s why more UK property owners and businesses are choosing Zaptec for their EV charging future:

  • Approved hardware: Zaptec Go and Zaptec Pro are OZEV-listed and future-proofed for long-term support.
  • Built-in EV driver reimbursement: Perfect for company car schemes—our intuitive app makes it easy to track usage, allocate costs, and simplify claims.
  • Dynamic smart charging: Optimise power distribution, reduce grid strain, and keep costs predictable.
  • Facility-ready controls: Seamless dashboard and back-office integration for larger sites or managed properties.
  • Installation made easy: We connect you with certified installers who know the grants inside out.
  • Designed for the UK: Scandinavian durability built for British weather and architecture.

More than compliant. More than stylish. Zaptec means future-ready.

FAQs

Do I need to own the premises to qualify for OZEV grants?

Typically, yes – landlords, homeowners, or businesses must own the property or have the authority to make installations. Leased properties may require landlord permission.

Can I use grants for leased fleet vehicles?

Yes. Businesses using leased fleet vehicles can claim grants under the Workplace Charging Scheme, provided other eligibility criteria are met.

What if I want to upgrade my system later?

Upgrading is possible, but new installations must remain grant-compliant and upgrades may not be eligible for repeat funding.

How long does it take to receive EV grant approval?

Most OZEV grant approvals are processed within 2-4 weeks once installation and documentation are completed correctly.

Can tenants claim EV charger grants?

Yes, tenants can apply for certain EV charger grants, particularly if they live in rented properties with dedicated off-street parking. Grants are also available for landlords, social housing providers, and housing associations, so tenants may benefit by coordinating with their property owner.

Are there grants for communal or shared parking areas?

Yes. The EV Infrastructure Grant supports installations in communal parking areas for flats or commercial buildings, provided eligibility criteria are met.
