A thorough recruitment process

The Board has been through a thorough process over the last several months. The process has been run with professional assistance, it has covered a wide geographical search area and it has included a large number of very competent candidates towards whom we are grateful for their interest and efforts in the process.

Against this we are very pleased to announce that Kurt Østrem, CFO and Acting CEO for the third time in his career with Zaptec ASA, has accepted the position as CEO.

Kurt has through his period as CFO, acting CEO and – lately - the recruitment process convinced the Board that he has the experience, the decisiveness, the vision and the ambition to drive the further development of Zaptec ASA in the best interest of its stakeholders.

Board and CEO comments on the future

"We look forward to continuing the work together with Kurt and his team to ensure that Zaptec will develop, perform and prove its role as a leading player in the international EV space" says Stig H. Christiansen, Chair of Zaptec.

Kurt Østrem adds: "I look forward to the continued journey with Zaptec and the talented team dedicated daily to delivering quality chargers throughout Europe. I am excited to build the organization further, and I'm ready to take the company to the next level", he says.

Zaptec’s journey and key milestones

Zaptec began its journey in 2012 and had a breakthrough in 2017 when the first electric vehicle charger was produced for a market in a country with mature electric vehicle development. Since then, there have been years of milestones for the company, most recently in 2023, with half a million chargers produced and charging technology patented.
