Zaptec joins Octopus and BYD to enable UK’s first bidirectional charging bundle
London, 23 June 2025 – Octopus Energy, BYD and Zaptec have today launched the UK’s first commercial vehicle-to-grid (V2G) offering as part of the new Power Pack bundle.
The new bundle, now available in the UK—with the potential for wider rollout across Europe—pairs the bidirectional Zaptec Pro charger with a BYD EV and a dynamic smart tariff, allowing drivers to both charge their vehicles and export energy back to the grid during peak hours.
With this launch, Zaptec strengthens its position as a leading European charging provider, demonstrating its ability to deliver high-quality, grid-integrated solutions at scale.
The technology has been developed in close collaboration with BYD and Octopus engineers, and early customer rollouts are already underway. Managed via Octopus Energy’s Kraken platform, the system offers seamless integration, showcasing a scalable, interoperable platform designed for wider European deployment.
As demand grows for smarter energy solutions, this launch positions Zaptec at the forefront of a rapidly evolving European V2G landscape.
